How to get paid for your receipts [Guide]

This guide covers the top 3 best apps/sites to get make money by uploading pictures of your receipts. Our top 3 is based on our experience of which companies have paid the most money for our receipts.

There are many companies that will pay you to upload pictures of your receipts. You can even upload the same receipt across several apps and get paid by each one. This guide covers the best apps/sites that pay you for your receipts. (Ordered by the most generous/easiest to make money from).

Note: These sites / apps often have limited spaces on how many people they will accept. So if you notice that any of these are not currently taking new sign ups let us know in the comments here

#1 – Amazon Shopper Panel – (Β£5 a month for 10 receipts)

You can download Amazon’s very own Amazon Shopper Panel and they will pay you Β£5 in Amazon credit for uploading 10 receipts every month! They accept receipts from most stores/supermarkets (except Amazon). You can upload pics of receipts using the app or forward email receipts to the email address provided. Receipts should be from within the last 30 days. Just make sure not to upload duplicate or blurry receipts.

This is one of the easiest to use apps and the most generous too. You can also easily see your previously uploaded receipts to make sure you don’t upload duplicates. They also provide a paid survey every month (it’s usually just 1 multiple choice question and that adds about 25p to your balance).

Amazon collect this data in order to serve you more relevant ads the next time that you shop on Amazon or use other Amazon products.

This one is very popular so you would now need to join a waiting list before you can start using it.

For us it took us 2 weeks on the waiting list before we could start using the app.

#2 – Snap My Eats – (Β£5 for 25 receipts)

[Update: SnapMyEats has reached its quota for new sign ups as of March. You’ll need to try again next month if you want to create an account] Snap My Eats is one of the best apps to get paid for uploading receipts. They’ve recently upped the number of required receipts to 25 receipts per month to get a Β£5 reward. The rewards are payable when you reach Β£10 in earnings and you can choose the gift card that you’d like to receive via email (includes Amazon, Costa, Uber and more).

As the name suggests, Snap My Eats is an app for you to upload pictures of food related receipts – so as long as the receipt contains a food item you can upload it. The receipts have to be from within the last 7 days. There are other limits of no more than 2 receipts from the same store on the same day. You also need to make sure that the receipts are your own – if you upload a receipt that has already been uploaded you risk your account getting disabled.

#3 – Shop And Scan – includes Β£10 bonus

Shop And Scan is part of Kantar, a well known market research company. Once accepted onto the program you get sent a little barcode scanner through the post. You can then upload pictures of receipts via their website and get points. You can also scan barcodes corresponding to items that you have purchased using a catalogue to get more points. The points can then be exchanged for gift cards.
The method of scanning products from the catalogue using a physical scanner (and then uploading them via a computer) feels a little dated. Hopefully they’ll update the way they operate to just use a mobile app like the other companies in our guide.

This one made our top 3 is because when you first receive the barcode scanner through the post you are asked to submit a test shop. The reward for submitting the test shop is a generous free Β£10 gift card!

Honorable mentions

Shoppix is another that we personally use and was very close to coming out third in our list – you unlock scratch cards and points by uploading your receipts and answering surveys. We’ve received several pay-outs from them too in the form of Amazon vouchers for uploading receipts. [Update: You may need to join a waiting list to join Shoppix too]

There are several others too, whilst they didn’t make our list they might still be of interest to you. Including: Nielsen shopping panel (you take a pic of receipts and also scan product barcodes and get rewarded with gift cards) & ReceiptHog

If you have any that you think should be on our list, drop a comment on the Facebook post!
