Free teddy and book pack for kids with Diabetes type 1

[This is for children who have recently been diagnosed with Diabetes Type 1 only].
They also have a free teenage/adult toolkit available too.

If your child has been recently diagnosed with type 1 diabetes, you can order a free KIDSAC to help them and you to manage their condition better.

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) are giving away the free packs that you can order online for free (delivered free).





The free KIDSAC pack for children with type 1 diabetes includes the following:

  • A teddy bear – Rufus, the type 1 diabetic bear. He has special felt patches to practise on at his test and injection sites.
  • A story book – Ivy and Iver, a free type 1 storybook Meet Rufus is a children’s book about Rufus and his type 1 diabetes friends. It is inspired by children who face major challenges. The book, written by two mothers of children with type 1 diabetes, aims to normalise the condition and assist children.
  • Drawstring bag and folder – A type 1 reference folder and a drawstring bag to keep all of your diagnosis information and leaflets together.
  • Information on type 1 diabetes – Leaflets with information to help you cope with the diagnosis and live with type 1 diabetes.
  • Handy pocket guides that you can share – A pocket guide for friends and family (you can order more if you need them)
